FVCbank Completes Acquisition of 1st Commonwealth

Fairfax resident Huong Van has joined FVCbank (FVCbank) as Vice President, Commercial Lender. Van comes to FVCbank from BB & T, where she was an Assistant Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Lender III.
“Ms. Van brings an extensive knowledge of real estate development to our lending team,” says FVCbank Chairman and CEO David W. Pijor. “In addition to her five years of lending experience, she is studying real estate development in the Master’s degree program at George Mason University.”
After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a B.S.B.A. in Finance, Van started her career with BB & T in January 2007 as a Leadership Development Associate in Winston-Salem, N.C. In July 2007, she became a Banking Officer, Commercial Real Estate Lender I, at the McLean office of BB&T. In October 2009, she was promoted to Commercial Real Estate Lender II and, in January 2011, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Lender III. At BB&T, she received a Sterling Performance Award for high loan production in 2010.
Van is a candidate for a Masters Degree in Real Estate Development at George Mason University, with expected graduation in 2013. She is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) in DC, where she served as community action chair in 2010-2011. At CREW, she was a Rising Star Award nominee in 2009 and 2010.
