FVCbank announces strong growth in both deposits and loans for the year ending 2008, the bank’s first full year of operation.

David W. Pijor, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, announced L. Burwell Gunn has joined the Bank as Vice Chairman. A thirty-five year professional commercial banker, Mr. Gunn was previously employed as Senior Vice President, Senior Lender and Not for Profit Division Head at Commerce Bank, Fairfax County, Virginia.
Prior to Commerce Bank, Mr. Gunn was head of Provident Bank’s efforts to expand its commercial banking presence into the Washington Metro market. Mr. Gunn founded Cardinal Financial Corporation located in Tysons Corner and he spent his first 25 years in various commercial lending capacities with Crestar Bank (now SunTrust) where he was the commercial head of the bank’s Greater Washington region from 1986 until late 1997. In addition, Mr. Gunn serves on a number of civic and charitable boards, including the Education Foundation of Northern Virginia Community College, is a Past Chairman of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and current President of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
