Marc N. Duber
Marc is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Bernstein Companies, one of the oldest commercial real estate firms in Washington, D.C., where he began his career in 1980. He focuses on strategic acquisitions, ground-up developments, investments, and managing its many hotel and commercial properties. Since 2019, Mr. Duber has served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, American University. He also dedicates time to many other causes in the metropolitan area including being the former Chairman of the Board at Washington Hospital Center, the largest and most comprehensive hospital serving the Washington area. He now serves on the Board of MedStar Health, Inc., the parent corporation of Washington Hospital Center where he chairs the philanthropy committee. Mr. Duber received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Kogod School of Business at American University.
Patricia A. Ferrick
Patricia has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since the Bank’s organization inception and has served in the same capacity for the Company since its organization. Ms. Ferrick was recently promoted to President and Chief Financial Officer of the Bank and the Company. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Ferrick served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at both Potomac Bank of Virginia (2004-2006) and Southern Financial Bancorp, Inc., (2000-2004). Ms. Ferrick worked for KPMG (formerly Peat Marwick) as an auditor and obtained her CPA license before serving as an internal auditor and later controller at various banks in the Washington, D.C. area. Ms. Ferrick serves as a director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, D.C. since 2011.
L. Burwell Gunn
Burwell is the current Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and also served as President and Chief Operations Officer from 2008 through 2013. Prior to joining the Bank, he was Senior Vice President, Senior Lender and Not for Profit Division Head, Commerce Bank, 2005-2008; and Managing Director for Provident Bank for Metro Washington and Richmond from 2002-2005. Mr. Gunn founded Cardinal Financial Corporation, a publicly traded community banking entity located in Fairfax, Virginia and held various senior commercial lending positions prior to that. Mr. Gunn has over 41 years of banking experience. He is also a lifetime member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and member of the American Legion.
Meena Krishnan
Meena has been a member of our Executive Board since January of 2021. She serves as President and CEO of Inoventures, LLC, a business analytics firm that not only develops software but also provides Big Data analytics, predictive modeling, and database management to various federal agencies. With multiple Masters’ degrees and a thorough background in STEM, prior to her time at Inoventures, Ms. Krishnan was Vice President of Strategic Programs for INDUS Corporation, an information technology and services company. She has also spent time with Verizon Business as a Senior Leader and is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Save A Child Now, a Congressionally recognized nonprofit organization that serves underprivileged children both locally and overseas.
Scott Laughlin
Scott is an entrepreneur and venture investor who has participated in several notable emerging technology company successes, including LinkExchange, Zappos.com, Xythos Software and TellMe Networks. His career includes time as an executive with International Data Group and Microsoft, a Partner at IDG Ventures, the Director of the University of Maryland’s VentureAccelerator program. Previously, Mr. Laughlin served as CEO and Director of Zymetis, Inc., an investor-backed biotechnology company developing processes for the biofuels industry. Zymetis was acquired by AE Biofuels (AEBF) in July 2011. Subsequently, Mr. Laughlin became a Venture Partner at Ardent Capital, a private equity firm investing in technology companies in international markets. Since 2002, Mr. Laughlin has served on the board of LMO Advertising, an established advertising agency in the Washington, DC metro area. He has been an executive at the company since 2008. In addition to business activities, Mr. Laughlin is engaged in a range of philanthropic and family activities. Mr. Laughlin is a graduate of Princeton University.
Thomas L. Patterson
Tom is an investor and retired attorney residing in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Mr. Patterson had practiced commercial real estate law and general business law in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia for over 30 years before retiring in 2008. He graduated magna cum laude from Bucknell University, and is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Patterson was an Organizing Director, Board Member and Member of the Audit Committee of James Monroe Bank from 1998 until its sale to Mercantile Bankshares Corporation in 2006.
David W. Pijor, Esq.
David is the organizer of FVCbank, and his leadership accounts for one of the fastest initial capitalization raises in the history of Virginia banks. He served as Chairman of the Board and General Counsel for James Monroe Bank for eight years until its sale to Mercantile Bancshares in 2006. Prior to assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer of FVCbank, David was a practicing attorney in Fairfax, Virginia with over 30 years of experience in business law and transactions with an emphasis on taxation. He’s a graduate of the University of Michigan, earning a B.A. with Honors in Economics, and Georgetown University Law Center with a Juris Doctor degree.
Devin Satz
Devin was the founder, and until its sale to IMS Health Incorporated in 2005, the President and Chief Executive Officer, of Synchronous Knowledge, Inc., a health service research company analyzing electronic medical records for, among other clients, the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1999 as Chief, Managed Health Care Programs for the Surgeon General’s Office, where he led the effort to improve the business and medical practices in 15 medical treatment facilities. Among Mr. Satz’s academic achievements are degrees in biology and electrical engineering from Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland State University and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Duke University.
Lawrence W. Schwartz
Larry is a certified public accountant and is a partner with PBMares, LLP, a regional accounting and business advisory firm since 2013. Mr. Schwartz has served as an adjunct professor of accountancy at The George Washington University since 1997. Mr. Schwartz was a founder and served on the Board of BankAnnapolis in Annapolis, Maryland from its inception in 1988 until its sale in April of 2013. Mr. Schwartz taught at George Washington University from 1997-2014. He currently serves as vice chairman of Cornerstones, a nonprofit in Reston, which focuses on housing and social services.
Sidney G. Simmonds
Mr. Simmonds is a Certified Public Accountant and President of Simmonds & Klima, Ltd. in Arlington, Virginia since it was founded in 1981. He specializes in tax and accounting services to trusts, estates, family offices and individuals. He holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Accounting from the University of Virginia. Mr. Simmonds currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Virginia Hospital Center Arlington Health Care System, chairs its Compliance and Audit Committees and serves on its Finance Committee. He was Chairman of 1st Commonwealth Bank of Virginia when FVCbank acquired it in October 2012. He was a Director and Secretary of 1st Service Bank, where he served on the Bank’s Executive and Compensation Committees and chaired the Audit, Budget and Strategic Planning Committees. He was also a Director of the Bank of Northern Virginia and member of its Loan Committee.
Daniel M. Testa
Daniel the former owner, President and CEO of TCI, a leading full service voice and data systems integration company, serving the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area since 1980. Dan sold TCI in September 2016 and remains as a consultant working with TCI’s executive team. In 2015, Dan became the Chairman and CEO of People 2 People of Washington, D.C., an Executive Network and Consulting Firm based in Woodbridge, VA. Along with serving as a founding director of FVCbank, Dan is also a member of the Board of Directors of Advanced Solutions International, a global leader in delivering cloud based software solutions for member and donor based organizations.
Dan graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. He participates in many professional and business organizations as well as charitable activities, with his main focus on the American Heart Association. Dan is Certified Board Advisor.
Philip R. Wills III (“Trey”)
Trey is the third generation of the Wills family to be involved in real estate development in the metro Washington area. With his brother Timothy Wills, he manages the assets of the Wills family corporation, which include Potomac Land Management, Potomac Property Management and Real Estate Consulting Services. Focusing on identifying and acquiring high quality rental projects for conversions to condominiums, Potomac Land Management has become one of the largest condominium developers in Fairfax County. Their other activities include the development of a 400-lot golf course community and the construction of self-storage facilities. Also, Mr. Wills and his brother co-founded Church Investments and Consolidated Green Services, which provides customers with environmentally sensitive waste solutions. Mr. Wills is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Steven M. Wiltse
Steve has more than 30 years’ experience in successfully building and growing organizations organically and through acquisition. Steve was formerly a Senior Partner with BDO, USA, a national global accounting and consulting firm, before retiring in June 2014. Steve co-founded Argy, Wiltse & Robinson, P.C., and helped grow the firm to be the 56th largest public accounting firm in the United States. Steve is currently serving on various Boards as an independent Director and is performing various business consulting services. Steve most recently served as a Board member of Cardinal Bank which was acquired by United Bank in April 2017. Steve also was a past Director of Eagle Bank. Steve has been active in the Washington DC nonprofit community, where he currently serves on the Board of Hopecam, Inc. as Treasurer and past years as a DC Wings of Hope Board Member.
