For Immediate Release — July 17, 2015
Fairfax, Virginia – FVCbank invites and encourages the community to support the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area to help raise crucial funds and awareness of the disease through the Bank’s annual wine tasting fundraiser. The 4th annual FVCbank wine tasting event will be held on July 24, from 5:30-8:30 p.m., and will be hosted at the bank’s Fairfax headquarters, located at 11325 Random Hills Road. The event will include live music, hors d’oeuvres and wine sampling from as many as 15 varietals from local Virginia winery, Horton Vineyards.
“As the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death, we feel strongly about supporting the Alzheimer’s Association and the annual Walk To End Alzheimer’s,” said David Pijor, FVCbank chairman, president and CEO. “Hosting this event at our headquarters and inviting the community to participate helps bring awareness to the cause in a meaningful way that engages and educates everyone about the disease, while also showing support of our staff and customers who have been touched by the disease or feel inspired by being involved with organizations that really help the community where they live and work.”
The 4th annual wine tasting event supports the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which will be held on September 26 in Northern Virginia. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, research and resources.
“An estimated 5.3 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease, and more than 15 million family members and friends are caring for them. We are proud to partner with FVCbank and appreciate their support, which helps us to provide support to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias and their families,” said Chris Broullire, president and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter. “Events like this promote greater awareness and raise funds for vital programs and services and critical research. Thanks to FVCbank’s generosity, we continue to move closer to our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.”
Tickets for the wine tasting event are $15 in advance at any FVCbank branch or through PayPal with payments made to bbower@fvcbank.com. Tickets will also be available for $20 at the door. FVCbank will donate all ticket sales to the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Northern Virginia on September 26, 2015.
Since the first wine tasting event in 2011, FVCbank’s continued support toward this cause is founded in the bank’s belief that involvement in the community through outreach, volunteerism, corporate giving and corporate responsibility can effect meaningful, long-term change.
